ICEMAN is one of the artist on the COB roster drops his latest project called “Beyond The Boards” it is clear to me that not only Hip Hop isn’t dead but this album is one of the few I’ve heard that kept to the formula of what real rap suppose to sound like in 2011.
ICEMAN not only raps but he’s an audio engineer, a very talented on at that. Mixing and recording songs for himself, Crooked i, Horseshoe Gang,DJ Drama, B.o.B., COB Digital, Trachous Records to name a few. Listening to this album I got the same feeling of it being fresh, different and separates it’s self from everything else out there. I dedicate this video by Don Trip to all the fathers out there who unfortunately have to deal with child visitations. It really speaks out to the fact that we forget there are some father out there who really want to see their child and have to deal with baby mothers who use the child as a way to get back at the men. They forget the fact that it will effect the child for years to come, and should be grateful that even though the relationship didn’t work for the parents the father is willing to make it work for him and his child.
This song hits home because I dealt with this when I was growing up. I was lucky that even though my parents weren’t on good terms, my mother didn’t try to take her anger out on my dad’s right to want to spend time with me. I have spoken with a few friends that have to go thru this, and I dedicate this song to them. Hopefully those mothers will realize that they are lucky that their childs father is willing to make time for them. In a time when you have a lot of dead beat dads out there, you have a few that still want to be Fathers to their Kids.
