From the group ALIGNS check out the video for “Dressed In Armani”. ALIGNS is a group of musicians who perform the original material of Jacques Barbot, a fellow SAE alumni, and DASH 2 brother. Mark Bell on drums, Soshi Uchida on bass, and Jacques Barbot on guitar and vocals. Their self-titled debut features nine songs; all were rehearsed and recorded in Jacques’ bedroom.
Got a chance to catch them live, and loved the show. Follow them on Facebook ALIGNS.
Just peeped this video from a fellow SAE Alumni, Suave the Ape. The track “Time Passed Autumn” combines dope production with tight lyric. I am really this track and can’t wait to hear the full album. What was rally dope about the making of the video was the quote I read on Suave the Ape’s page about shooting the video.
Feeding the homeless who took part in my music video felt so good. I told them I would Feed them a few days before my video shoot for participating. What made it so special to them was that I kept my word and didn’t bullshit them. They said that’s hard to come by these days since they’ve always been lied to. They said they’ll never forget me for that. That 24pack of beers and 3 large plain pies did them good that night.
In October 2008 I stared on a journey to study audio engineering. I attended SAE Institute New York for 9 months taking up their Audio Technology Program. I learned a lot in these 9 months, but beyond the learning experience I meet a bunch of cool people. During project we would usually be bugging out with each other while we were recording. In the video below, I’m walking around the school on the last day of recording the the final project. I had finished my project earlier that day, so I was recording my other classmates as their were wrapping up their projects. Every room in the school was packed, so I stared walking around and asking everyone bout their experience at SAE. DASH 2 STAND UP!!!!!!
Another crazy day at school, SAE Institute New York, and I found myself buggin’ out while I was mixing. I was mixing up some fire that BSKI produced called “The Crown” on the Digidesign ICON D-Command. This board is amazing and just makes my job easier, with everything spread out in front of you mixing in Pro Tools HD is a breeze. Once I got in the zone I just started spazing out. This is an everyday thing for me, but this is how I get the job done.
