The Beat Renaissance

Electric Wire Hustle @ RedBullAuckland Part 2 from Myrhax on Vimeo.

Finding a new artist/group is always a pleasure for me, especially when its a group like Electric Wire Hustle. Found this gem online by Electric Wire Hustle called “Perception” , as part of the RedBull Studio Live Sessions @ Auckland, New Zealand, via Myrhax. I love the way Electric Wire Hustle mixes up samples played from the MPC, live keys, and a live drums set, it brings a crazy vibe to the whole song. Also peep how they flipped the sample Tribe Called Quest used for “Lyrics To Go” by Minnie Riperton – “Inside my Love”. Music like this keep me inspired to create music on a different level of experimentation. Check out Electric Wire Hustle, and I hope you enjoy this.

Every once in a while the genres fuse themselves correctly to create something great and innovative. I feel this project that Dame Dash has put together is going to be one just based upon snippets of music heard is in this promotional trailer for the The Black Roc Project. You can see features by Mos Def , Jim Jones , Raekwon , Q-Tip , Pharoah Monch , Nicole Wray or Niki Wray, Ludacris , RZA and Billy Danze (of M.O.P) just to name a few. Check out the clip. Now this project deserves my hard earned money. Dope!!!!! via kevinnottingham

It seems I’m constantly on a quest to better the T.B.R brand by working with different and talented people so I had the oppurtunity to submit some music for 2 commercial specs the homie Berman Fenelus was directing. You can here in the background one instrumental joint that I stripped the drums to which was actually a hip hop beat of mine. You can here in the second commercial spec the music has a more House/Pop feel. So there you have it background music produced by BSKI alias BeatsbyBSKI for The Beat Renaissance. Shameless Plug.:^). One.

In October 2008 I stared on a journey to study audio engineering. I attended SAE Institute New York for 9 months taking up their Audio Technology Program. I learned a lot in these 9 months, but beyond the learning experience I meet a bunch of cool people. During project we would usually be bugging out with each other while we were recording. In the video below, I’m walking around the school on the last day of recording the the final project. I had finished my project earlier that day, so I was recording my other classmates as their were wrapping up their projects. Every room in the school was packed, so I stared walking around and asking everyone bout their experience at SAE. DASH 2 STAND UP!!!!!!

I have the honor and privelege of being the first to exclusively post the unofficial official Jay-Z Summer Jam performance “D.O.A” video . I shouldve post it sooner but better late then never. By far this is the best backstage/onstage video taken so far of Hovas performance at 2009 Summer Jam. Other blogs and websites need to get on it and post it. This video really needs some attention. Shot and edited by Director/Photographer Berman Fenelus with his Canon for AAC Films.
